Wedding Party

Flower Girls and Ring Bearer

We are lucky enough to have the cutest and most awesome nieces and nephew who agreed to be our flower girls and ring bearer.  Keep an eye out for these cuties on the dance floor.

Bridesmaids

Emily Walker – Katie’s sister

IMG_7137

Emily “Stinker” Walker is Katie’s younger sister by 11 years.  Katie used to babysit this little one when she was in diapers, but 20 years later, Katie is proud of and impressed by her little sister’s ambition and world travels from South Africa to Belize while she studies marine biology during her undergrad years at Colby College.  Emily and Katie share a mutual love of Santa, Essie nail polish, and annoying others by “meowing” songs.  Katie is psyched that her sister has agreed to be her Maiden of Honor.

Molly Juhlin – Katie’s best friend

IMG_1162Molly and Katie met freshman year at Bowdoin, but didn’t immediately become friends.  In fact, Katie thought Molly was mean (turns out Molly is just slow to warm).  It wasn’t until senior year at Bowdoin that these two found their true friendship, which carried them through living together in Somerville for 2 years, and an extremely rocky canoe trip at their 5-year college reunion.  Katie’s favorite things about Molly are that she is always up for a good laugh, completing a challenging puzzle, and that she is Ryan’s #1 backup choice for Celtics tickets.

Groomsmen

Kevin Ruderman

Ryan has known Kevin Ruderman since 1985ish. They grew up across the street from each other in the geographic center of Massachusetts.

(Yes, Kevin still makes that face.)

A few years after college, Kevin and Ryan ended up living a few miles apart in the Somerville/Medford/Arlington area, got Celtics season tickets, and have been going to Celtics games about 30 times a year ever since. Kevin lives in Medford (still about 2 miles from Ryan and Katie) with his wife Nicole, and practices law in Boston when not attending Celtics games.

Justin McCauley

Ryan and Justin met in high school, though Justin believes he’s got video of he and Ryan playing basketball in 7th or 8th grade with Ryan’s shorts jacked up to his armpits (it’s very possible). Justin’s claim to fame is probably being one of the nicest people on earth, though he will tell you definitively that his claim to fame is sharing a beer with Bruins goalie Tim Thomas (before he went crazy).
(Really, ask Justin about it. He’ll tell you the whole story.)

(Justin, Ryan, and Kevin moments after the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004.)

Justin joined Kevin and Ryan with Celtics season tickets for the better part of the last 7 years, and single handedly kept the Boston Sports Grille in business, showing up 2 hours before games and then harassing Ryan for not being able to get there that early.

Justin is ensuring the students of Bridgewater State University have a wonderful experience, and he lives in Bridgewater with his wife Christina, and children Teagan and Quinn.

Ryan, Justin, and Kevin are lucky to be part of a group of a rare group of friends who’ve stuck together for literally 30 years. Here’s some random photos of those years:
